Colin McRae Helicopter Crash

I just got back from a day out with Cameron and took a look at the news. The first thing I noticed in the BBC site was a story relating to a helicopter crash. On reading it, I was shocked to discover that the crash occurred in my home town and appears to have taken the life of someone I knew at school (though there is, as yet, no official confirmation).
Though, frankly, I didn’t get on particularly well with Colin McRae at school, I was secretly rather proud of what he, an ordinary guy from Lanark whose Dad was our plumber (and also British Rally Champion but that seemed secondary at the time), managed to achieve – World Rally Champion in 1995 and at or very near the top of the sport for at least a dozen years.
My heart goes out to his parents and family and to all those close to the other, as yet unidentified victims of this terrible accident.
