Those quirky Texans

by on Nov.06, 2007, under Uncategorized

Much of the news of the UK that we see over here falls into the category of “Those Quirky Brits” – bicycle polo, chasing cheese down hills, etc. The BBC turns the tables today with a great “Those Quirky Texans” story about a guy breaking his world record for sitting in a bath full of rattlesnakes. I can only assume that the world record was originally his since no-one else is daft enough to want to sit in a bath full of rattlesnakes.

As an interesting side note, the location of this feat, Dublin, TX, is also home to the original Dr. Pepper bottling plant and a place of pilgrimage for many a local soda fan since they still use cane sugar there rather than the ubiquitous high fructose corn syrup that everyone else uses. It does actually taste rather impressively different.
