Morning Street Scene, Antigua
by Dave Wilson on Jan.26, 2008, under Uncategorized
Here’s a slightly different take on another street in Antigua. I’ve done some serious mucking around with this image to give it a dreamy feel and quite like the outcome. Click through the photo for the gory details.
Antigua Street

Earlier this week, I spent some time going back through some of my Guatemala pictures from last June and discovered this one that slipped through the net on the first pass. I’ve arted it up a bit and am rather happy with the result. This shows a street in Antigua and was taken around 7am before the delivery trucks and the majority of the tourists arrived.
Network Solutions business ethics (or lack thereof)
by Dave Wilson on Jan.14, 2008, under Uncategorized
I’m no fan of Network Solutions who, rather than trying to compete against their competition by offering better service and services, seem intent on adopting extremely questionable business practices to further their aims. Here’s another example I found today. It appears that NetSol are effectively blocking any other registrar from registering a domain that you search for on their site, thus forcing you to register with them and pay their now-uncompetitive rates. Moral – steer clear of Network Solutions site if you are looking for a new domain name.
The vast majority of my clients are now registered with GoDaddy who I have found to be excellent – their service is top-notch and their account management tools are extremely easy to use. The only folks I still have on NetSol are there purely because it gets more and more difficult to transfer them away as time goes by or because they paid multi-year registrations that have a long time before expiration.
Capitol Extension and Dome

I’ve just set things up on Flickr so that I can post directly to the blog from there. I wonder how this will look? Here’s another of the pictures I took last November when on my photo day inside the Capitol.
Evil Tricks at CES

As anyone who has ever been to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas can tell you, the place is chock full of TVs. You can, no doubt, therefore, imagine the chaos that someone walking around with a universal remote could do… No-one would do something as evil as that, would they? Maybe they would.
