Any Japanese readers reading this?
by Dave Wilson on Mar.02, 2008, under Uncategorized
Every so often, I do a Technorati search to see who’s used my photos on the web. This week, a hit on one of my latest Hamilton Pool pictures showed up but I have absolutely no idea what the context is since I don’t read Japanese. If anyone can tell me what this site is saying, I would love to know!
Renaissance Hotel Atrium
by Dave Wilson on Mar.02, 2008, under Uncategorized
I was up in the Renaissance this past Thursday lunchtime as volunteer photographer at a rather grand Caritas fundraiser and managed to grab this photo on the way out. It’s an HDR (high dynamic range) image built from 3 different exposures using Photomatix (again). I didn’t have a remote shutter release with me and I was in a hurry so it’s not quite as sharp as I would have liked but I’m reasonably happy with the result.
Registration Problem Fixed
by Dave Wilson on Mar.02, 2008, under Uncategorized
Thanks to Miles who pointed out that registration for the blog was broken. This seems to have happened when I upgraded to version 2.4 of pMachine (the software that runs the blog) but failed to read the instructions about manual modifications required to the page templates to enable captcha entry on various form pages. I’ve corrected this now and all seems fine. To register, you now need to enter a code which appears at the bottom of the page. This is intended to stop spammers and other undesirable, automated scripts and programs from registering and using the blog to post or send spam.
