Good News for Architecture Photographers

by on Jan.27, 2011, under Photography

I’ve had run-ins with security guards in pretty much every city I’ve taken photographs in (oddly, though, not in Austin). Although I’ve never been stopped by a federal officer, I was rather happy to find this information on the net today (courtesy of Thomas Hawk). The linked document details the rights photographers have to take pictures of federal buildings and appears to be intended to stop Federal Protective Services officers from overstepping their authority when approaching people legally taking pictures outside their buildings.

This is one to print and keep in your camera bag if you are likely be be shooting near federal buildings, I suspect.
